The second robot I designed for the First Tech Challenge Freight Frenzy season with my team, 9527 Rogue Resistance. This robot was one of my most fun to build and drive, with a full suspension for easier terrain crossing. Designed in Fusion360
Accomplishments:
Austin Metro League Innovate Award • Central Texas Winning Alliance First Pick • Central Texas Innovate Award Runner Up

The first time I did spring calculations I messed up.

Our suspension allowed us to take on terrain at any angle.

We could easily and quickly cross the barriers.

Our robot was very... dynamic.

Early intake test. Later on, the intake would fail due to the polycarbonate plates being too flexible.

Our suspension setup, with a custom shock built using a compression spring and an HDPE shaft we made on a lathe.

Suspension Testing.

Our depositing arm in action.

We used springs on our arm to cancel out the force of gravity.

This robot won us our first-ever award and advancement to higher levels in our team's 9-year history.
